My granddaughter attends this school. Last year the teacher was a positive influence. This year the teacher complains the reason the kids are behind is due to the teacher last year. The children are not given appropriate meals according to the USDA school lunch guidelines. The school will call and tell you to pick up your child (if they think they are ill) but tell you to wait until after 1000 so they can be paid for the day.

My experience with Daystar as a parent has been a positive experience. Assistance and resource guidance was afforded me by all involved parties. My son excelled academically as well as socially and was provided hands on additional attention as needed. I am grateful to the adminstrative staff as well as the many other professionals and paraprofessionals who dedicated their time and effort in providing the individualization necessary for my child's success.

As advice to parents, I would let them know that the administration of the Shekinah/ Radiance Academy schools are unorganized and unprofessional. This These schools use state funding to better themselves and not the students curriculum. As a parent I am disappointed to find that teachers are easily replaced and no consideration is given to the students as to how they will be affected. The teachers are who make a difference, with what little they are given to work with. I found most teachers here to be caring and concerned for the kids. There appears to be a lack of communication between parents and principal. I don't even think she is at the campus most of the time. I am upset that our tax dollars go to support these kind of schools that are run by cold hearted business people and not educators who actually care about the children.
