some staff needs retraining as well as the parent liaison. she has not respect for parents and tends to loose dr notes. my son is special and has appointments oviously he is going to be missing class something that these ppl dont seem to understand even with documentation. i was threaten with being courted and getting cps on me for no reason other than appointments and having a ill child. plz keep copy of appointments and dr notes for your records. i noticed some errors on my sons absent list. my son is in the special ed department and the teacher mrs. covington has no respect for adults and sure makes you worry about how your kids are being treated when there is no one observing them. she has made several comments that are unethical for a professional especially one working with special needs kids. other parents have also been witnessed or experienced this. i recommend to make copies and keep documentation of conversations when dealing with this school. it is no wonder they have such a low score with the Texas Education Agency. such a shame for the few good teachers and staff there.
no fairness or honesty in this school. if you have a special kid prepare yourself. they have no understanding and try to scare you with lies and threats such as getting courted or cps for having a sick child or taking them to appointments. keep documentation!
My son LOVES it here. It's a shame that we might move because this school is so very wonderful. It's amazing what my son (K) learned in just 1 year. His teacher prepared him very well for 1st grade. He knows how to read and write so well from just that 1 year. Excellent curriculum and awesome teachers.
The newest elementary school is Victoria this was built in 2000. The facilities are excellent. The leadership and teachers are very concerned about the child's well fare and their education. I was very pleased with the quality of education my children received there. They have an active PTO with great parent involvement. Opportunity for children to participate in UIL events.
