Midway Intermediate School

I am a 6th grader their and I think it is a wonderfull school. Great staff,Fresh food,and wonderfull after school programs.

My son is a 5th grader in the Venture program. So far his experience has been good with the exception of Science. His other grades in other subjects are 2 100's, 97 and a 95. In Science he has a C. I asked the Science teacher about the disparity and all she could say was yes his last few grades have been low. I asked for a conference and she didn't have any time. On a different note the school has allowed us to have off campus PE so we are able to do our after school thing early in the day and have lots of time for homework. My daughter, who was ADHD went to this school and had a lot of difficulty because the counsellor and the teachers did not communicate about her Academic Plan.

Special needs....need keep looking! Finding the right program can be exhausting. By using rules of elimination you can narrow your search quickly. Unless you already have 'insider info'such as parent networks,medical referral and support groups about a particular program that interests you then you would use district budgeting info as the first factor to consider. Where there is a will there is a way. In other words If the program is not there you would want the money it may take to get it there. No words can truly describe this school maybe 'Mall like'. For the special needs, all the special needs they go to the same place. On the first day a note came home stating my non verbal autistic child was having problems 'sitting still in circle time while the other students read to him'. What? No time to waste. Thank God we were renting!!!!!

Academic programs are excellent. The Band Program is excellent. Parent Involvement is High.
