I have been impressed by the educational quality. The students are held to high standards, and it shows on this school Districts Accountability results. Students have a planner that they record daily assignments and important information in, and we have had no problem keeping up with what is expected. After all, communication is a two-way street. People would not be trying so hard to buy property in the district if it were not a High - Quality educational setting

We chose to live in White Oak because of the school reputation. We have been very disappointed because of the lack of communication between teachers and parents. I have to quiz my child daily to find out what they are doing in math or science. I am also upset because of the time change. School now lets out at 3:30, unlike the Primary that lets out at 3:00. My Intermediate child is now riding the bus with high school students. It is alarming to hear of the arguments between HS kids that she hears. I am concerned with what the younger children are being exposed to. I have mentioned my concerns to the principal and did not feel it mattered to her. She was only worried about her GT students. I also called the superintendents office and was told it was up to the principal to set the times.

I attended White Oak several years back but even then their standards of excellence in education were above par for the state. It is good to hear from friends who remain in W.O. and now have children attending that nothing has waivered in respect to their dedication to educating. I am proud to say W.O. is my alma mater and I commend this school for its academic excellence, UIL acomplishments and the variety of extracurricular activities available to students.
