If you are not in to sports, you are a second class citizen in this school. The drama in this school is off the chart. Grown people sweep stuff under the rug here if addressing the problem would mean having a student athlete sit out of a game or two. I too am very surprised to see our school ranked so high academically.

The acadmics provided at Whitewright are on track with most larger schools in the area. They offer Advanced Placements courses in Math, Science, English, Spanish, and U.S. History. The fine arts programs are excellent and the athletic department is dedicated to educational achievement first.

Everything is available. There are great teachers and excellent students. They have a great principal who makes sure you do what you are supposed to. If football plays are on the board its because the class is done and the teacher has taught the lesson for the day. Athletes are treated with respect here but should be because they are held to much higher standards. They must not only obey all school affiliated rules but must also act as role models. They have an athletic code which they must abide by or they are punished or even kicked out. They pretty much get papers that control them as long as your enrolled.

This school is horrible if your not an athlete. I still do not understand how they can have such good academic ratings because they dont teach. They are completely wrapped up in athletics. My daughter would have Football plays on the boards when she walked into several different classes. They have to many coaches trying to teach. They can't teach and coach at the same time. I guess it was just to much for them to handle. In the end my daughter finally went to homeschooling because the school wasnt teaching. They also treat kids differently that dont play sports. If you are an athlete your like a god, but if your not... your not seen.
