This a wretched school. The staff is mostly pleasant but, the principal and vice principal are horrid. They undermine the students and go back on their word. They single out children for punishment. The cafeteria is supposedly monitored though they let the children run rampant. The academics are severely lacking. Albeit the extracurricular activities are a delight. The counselor was wonderful the last time my child attended and the nurse is great. I'd say the only thing needing improvement are the actual classes; main courses. Ah, and don't forget the 'head' of staff.

The principal is by far the most compassionate leader around. She has a leadership style that allows parents, teachers, students and staff to approach with issues, praise, or comments. The school has become acceptable this year and the staff and students are working really hard to make sure that it remains that way. It is a great place to work with a staff that is a close knit group that cares about students. To have your kids in a school that really cares about the students and is realistic about expectations and pathways to success this is the place to be.

This is a wonderful school. The principal is a warm and compassionate leader. This school became acceptable this year. The teachers worked really hard to make this a wonderful school for the students.

About the tests


In 2012-2013, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) was used to test students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in science in grades 5 and 8; in social studies in grade 8; and end-of-course assessments for English I, II, and II, Algebra I and II, biology and US History. STAAR is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

The different student groups are identified by the Texas Education Agency; if there are a small number of students in a particular group, the state doesn't report data for that group.
