Went to Frenship in late 50's; grades 8-10; was an air force brat, had fun and would like to hear from 1963 grads.
I found the administration and teachers to be pretty impressed with themselves and their program(s). For the Lubbock area this is one of the better schools but my impression is that this school is mediocre, at best, once one makes comparisons outside of West Texas and Texas as a whole (I am an educator and I know what I am talking about). Our son took quite a few dual credit courses (approximately 2-3 a semester for his last two years) while enrolled at Frenship and was almost always able to complete all of his homework during the day while in school! When he went to college (a good but not highly competitive state university outside of Texas) he had a lot leveling to do in order to get up to speed with what is required in good solid college course.
Would give it a 5 but I HATE that is a closed campus...thinking about transferring
Administration is cold and unfriendly. Unwilling to compromise or help with any problem.
this school is good. you will not regret it.
Frenship High School is an amazing school. They have the best facilities of any school district anywhere, and their technology integration program is next to none, but the real difference is the teachers. The teachers at this school love their students in and out of class. Whether it's helping students after school, coming up with fun and exciting projects to do during class or spending countless hours at ballgames, choir concerts, and other extra curricular activities simply to support their students. Frenship High School is the best place to send your children!
Frenship High School is a great school. They have great academics. The Tiger marching band is a wonderfull band that is getting better and better each year. They have been to the state marching contests the past three years that they were eligible. This is a school to go to!
