Burnett really struggled in 2010 and 2011 but in 2012, the administration focused on making some big changes. The curriculum, parent involvement and discipline changes really turned the school around. Test scores went up and the students are now focused on learning.
The academics are less than poor. The kids are rude and their language is worse. Some of the teachers are nice but others just sit on their phone the whole class. I am a student and I'm ecstatic i have the opportunity to change schools. On another note they tend to discriminate new students by not putting them in ANY advanced classes, even when their requested.
The teachers and staff here really work hard to connect with the kids on their level, to make it a fun environment.
From my experience the principal, staff and teacher's priority is always the kids well being and education.
This is a great school. My son has done outstanding. Teachers are on top of things. The kids are kind to each other. This is a Great School
