I had some really great teachers at ACYI who helped me regain my love for learning and succeed in the rest of my schooling. They also helped me to find my skills and interests which helped me a lot in deciding what I would be when I 'grew up.'
This is a great school. The grades are 6th and 7th. They switch classes like all junior high schools, but they stay with the same group of students in the core classes and then they mix it up for the classes they get to chose. The teachers are really nice and helpful. Everyone has thier own locker. The school is clean. My daughter does not feel threatened or unsafe going there. The age range is great. The staff is great. I know it is still early in the year, but my duaghter has not had a lot of homework. She studies for tests and does some hoemwork, but I don't think it is a lot, and I hate homework. I did not like all the stuff she had to buy on the first day of school, I thought it was excessive.
I like this school. I like the close age range of the students. The staff seems to be mostly wonderful. My one concern is all the responsibility they plop on these young people. I do believe we need to help them mature, but it seems a little too much too fast.
