The Facility is nice, but it pretty much ends there. Teachers seem glued to the standard core curriculum without consideration of actually teaching and when you ask them how the standards are measured they don't seem to understand it. Feeling is very chaotic at the school. Lots of kids and poor teacher:student ratios. If you like a "stepford community" type of feeling, you might like the school. Also, might be important to some... there is ZERO diversity at this place.

This school has to many kids - so although the teachers are wonderful - the principal is overwhelmed and does not have close relationships with the children - There is also a "cougar" sub culture that exists with the parents who like to see and be seen - I am not over impressed with the school - but I love my sons teacher who authentically cares about the children under her care.

I love that they really love the kids so much! The school is clean and well cared for. The teachers are very involved and they try to come up with really fun things to get the kids engaged and have a positive experience. The principal is wonderful and really, really cares about the kids.

The teachers at Oak Hollow are amazing! The French program rocks and my three girls 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders love going to Oak Hollow!

The core curriculum in this school is followed. Teachers cover all science, reading, writing, and math. The only lacking area is PE. More PE obviously available in the warmer months. Indoor PE in the winter months. Lots of support at this school. Lots of parent involvement. Principal makes the school.

My son has attended this school for one year now. Overall it is a decent school and they get the cores (reading, writing, math) right. Also the student/teacher ratio is very good for UT. I wish there was more art, music, science and PE in the curriculum.

Per the Mar. 11th 2006 comment on the rude staff and principal, I am happy to say that the staff has been transformed by a new and energetic principal now. The staff seems overwhelmed in the office much of the time but overall genuine and willing to help.

Lots of chaos. I am not sure why, there seems to be lot of kids with behavioral problems. As always teachers do their best to crowd control.

There are some teachers who could step it up a bit as far as behavior in the classroom and organization, not to mention positive reinforcement but as far as I'm concerned over 50% of the teacher population at Oak Hollow is par excellence. 100% would be better but you'll find that at any school, even paying tuition. Public education is free and the teachers have to be accountable. The new principal is fantastic and has brought lots of energy to the school!

The teachers could be better. Not a lot of parent involvment. Needs higher standards and students need more discipline.

I feel the quality of education comes, not only from overall philosophy of a district or school site, but also the individual teachers. The teachers at OHE all have great organizational skills and accountability from supervisors. The current staff of the 2007-2008 school year is exceptional.

Oak Hollow has excellent teachers, my two daughters have been fortunate to have them so far. My family and I moved here from Florida almost two years ago, and notice the change in Public Education systems between the two states. My daughters are both doing great in Oak Hollow and make very good grades. Although I will agree the schools here are very over crowded and getting used to the All-Year school program was tough. I agree on OKHE having grt teachers but do not agree with the Principal and the School Administrative Staff. They are very rude and very unprofessional when parents come in to the office. At first I thought it was just me...but they are like that to everyone that walks in for assistance. Currently they have a new Administrative Assistance and she's really nice, thank goodness.

Good teachers. Not a lot of parent involvement is encouraged or expected. While our kids are learning the pace is somewhat slow. Could be more challenging.

We have recently moved from Texas and I have two children (soon to be four) that attend this school. So far my children love their teachers and the classes. Their activities are much more hands on, using manipulatives to help learn the lesson at hand. They receive many creative, positive incentives in their classroom for completing their homework and doing well in class. When they return home they are eager to do their homework (go figure!) and excited when it is done. Their teachers send home weekly communications to the parents, so I am always aware of what is happening in their class. This allows me to better support my children in their studies. So far, we are very pleased.

I have three children in this school. I have experienced a few schools from different moves and this school definately does not rank at the top. This school is much too overcrowded to be able to appropriately handle anything but a gifted child. I would not recommend this school to anyone. The principal tries to improve the situation, but he also goes a little to the extreme. Teachers and students are in a very disciplined environment and teachers and students alike are stressed out as a result. The reading program is great, but there are too many students and too few volunteers to see it succeed. There are a few problem teachers. It is a gamble to try this school. I will be sending all three children to a different school next year.

I have three children that attend this school. We have lived here for 2 years. I love this school, the teachers are great. They take the time to work with every child in the class. The principal is very hands on in the school. I am on the PTA board and in community council. I am also a room mom.I have had a chance to get to know alot of people in different areas of the school. I plan on staying here for a very long time. The area is a great place to raise a family.
