Our children were in the Montessori at Riverton which was outstanding, but the financial crisis hit in 2008 and we were transferred to Foothills and Silvercrest. We felt like we stepped into the middle of the Lord of the Flies. The attitude of my children quickly changed; my high-performing son developed behavior problems, they came home with obscene amounts of homework they were clueless about, became stressed and resentful of school. To top off this subpar education, the food they make available is horribly processed. It's like their intentional goal is obese, lathargic kids. The teachers were simply outnumbered and outmatched by the sheer number of children. Far from competitive schools, they are apathetic failure factories. It is frustrating that children have to win a lottery to get into a sensible school, but Providence Hall provides a far more competitive education. The school quickly won my children back over to education, offered healthy, edible food, had small classes with plenty of adults and a proven education system. The teachers are clearly happier, and all for the same cost as any other school which begs the question: Why aren't all Utah schools this good?
I just moved to Utah from another state. My children were accepted from the wait list at PH. I absolutely love the school. They really care about my kids. Both the elementary principal and the Jr High Principal are great.
