Oakley School is head and shoulders above other therapeutic boarding schools - across the nation and overseas - that we considered for our son, a high school junior with anger management, depression, self-esteem and academic performance issues. Challenging academic curriculum, great therapeutic support from ALL staff (teachers, dorm staff, module staff, office staff) not just the therapists! It is definitely a "whole-team" approach towards helping the child and the family.

This is a very good school with an outstanding therapeutic program. Our son went for 1 year as a result of a marajuana habit that was spiraling out of control, as well as anger management and oppositional/defiant behavior. He came home the boy that we all thought he was going to grow up to be before he got into the destructive drug/kid culture during his early teen years. Oakley provided the support he needed to regain his self-esteem and get control of his negative behaviors. Our therapist was outstanding. We, his family, were included in his treatment which helped to heal our whole family, not just him. The academics were excellent and he was accepted into every school he applied to. I cannot say enough about this school. I highly recommend it.

A great school overall. It did wonders for our child. We did suffer with a poor therapist for a long time. Be very proactive about trying to get a top therapist, and change if not doing the trick for your family. More growth was made in the last two months than the rest of the school year combined. Years of debt for us, but we have our child back!

One of the finest Therapeutic Boarding Schools around. High quality in every aspect with specific attention to maintaining individual personal responsibility while participating in close knit group activities. Academics are unparalleled for this type of school. Therapist are well trained and have a great interdisciplinary support.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
