My son is in 1st grade and is our first year at CGA and we have had a wonderful experience! As mentioned in previous reviews, the PTO involvement needs to improve. However, A lot of the parents were aware of this and has recently been spearheaded into action and is taking off quickly! Since we love the school and it's mission, I myself have joined the PTOC and just in the last few days, we have organized committees and are implementing lots of great ideas to build school spirit, student recognition, school activities, and so much more! I am grateful to take part in building a solid PTO for Canyon Grove Academy! We love our son's teach, he has had fantastic and positive academic experience this year and we look forward to the years to come! I highly recommend this school!

This is our second year at the school. Yes, it has had ups and downs, as you would expect from any new charter school. Julie Adamic is the most amazing professional in the school system. And although she might not be present at the school all the time, she truly cares for the success of the school and is a mastermind in the subject. We went to CGA because of our son, who, hated preschool and did not care about any type of learning and we felt that the gender differentiated model would benefit him. We were not wrong. He READS. He can pick up any book his level, sit down and read it without any difficulty. The school is working through the Parent involvement and PTO participation and I think they are really headed the right direction. It will take time and patience to get there, but there are decisions in the works, that will for sure make this happen. Change takes time. Especially when it involves hundreds of parents that have never been involved before. In all, it's a great school with amazing teachers that just needs more of a parental push to make it even better.

This is the second year of a NEW charter school; it is headed in the right direction. HAving the option to choose gender orientated teaching so that a teacher is teaching to the interest and learning styles of boysor girls is fantastic; Not sure hands on learning is as strong but i think some are trying. I hope they get more support staff like paraprofessionals to support the teachers. The Food is down right AMAZING - the head chef is fantastic. would hope this school keeps pursuing science and technology as a strength - not sure if that is going to happen but the Space center definitely offers a different kind of cooperative learning. They just hired a fantastic music teacher and I think its GREAT that they start instruments in 5th grade. They need a full time computer lab person and better PTO. Mrs Martin for 6th grade girls is a rock star she teaches to learn not just to memorize. Love my first grade boys teacher too! Parent support is on the low side, but that is because they bus all over Utah county. I also love that they offer distance learning, AND full time Kinder. It is still struggling in places but has tons of potential to offer better, deeper education for my kids.

After spending second grade in the back of the class with 27 other students and being bullied by older students in public school, my husband and I were at a loss as to how improve our son's educational situation. Then we received a mailing about Canyon Grove Academy and their gender-differentiated teaching model. We attended an open house and never looked back at public school. Our son's third grade teacher, as well as our kindergartener's teacher, were both so attentive and open with us. I feel like they actually know my children, and care for them. The teaching methods and curriculum used at Canyon Grove Academy far surpass that of public education. Where my oldest was not reading until first grade, my kindergartener started reading halfway through the year. My children love their teachers and their school! The principal and her staff are much more involved with students and parents than we had ever experienced. The front staff even remember my name and who my children are. I just can't convey enough what a loving, caring, wonderful school Canyon Grove is and the excellence of the education my children have received there. Plus, I love their relatively inexpensive bussing!
