Because they had great teachers and administrators and the building are historic
This place is freakin sweet. The teachers and classes are involved and fun. They still have actual vending machines. You should totally ditch wherever you go and come join us. We have games and stuff.
This school rocks because its not alot of kids and the classes are small so that the teacher can get to us more often.and with not alot of kids means we get to meat alot of kids personally and just about no one gets judged like they do with a big school so ya LOVE IT!
The school is awesome. It has great teachers. Not that many students. We get more attention and one on one time with the teachers. So it is easier to pass classes. Because we understand the assignments better.
Granite High is so freaking cool. I think that it is good going to alternative school. The classes are easy and short. And there are only 4 classes a day.
This school is small so everyone loves everyone :) They do amazing programs and help as much as they can.
I think granite should be reopened and should be classified as an actual public school, it is a good school and the teachers are great. I am unhappy though because we have no sports, i an a sports fanatic, i like to play soccer and football but because of no funding, there is no sports at our school! I hope it is taken in consideration for following generations, for me it is too late since I am a senior and if Granite is reconsidered to be an open school then i would still be happy.
This school is so cool they let you do anything a long as it is school appropriate
I'm a student that attend at Granite. This school is the first to make me feel comfortable. At this school I'm to talk to all the staff member the counselor, teacher even the principal. In this school the are always try to help me out. The teachers help me allot they take time out to help each student in the class. In this school there is no gang or fight . The students at this school get the chance to get to know every person in the school sense they aren't that many person in the school. The classes are smaller ,that make it great sense you get better attention from the teacher , than other schools.
Granite High is still a good school with or without sports. In my opinion, without sports, some students may focus more on their school without the influence of the sports to distract them. The small school size makes the community more personal with each other; everyone knows everyone. You will never walk down the hallway without passing by someone you know. With the smaller class sizes, teachers can work more with the students one-on-one helping the students more with their studies. Granite High is a great school community for everyone. Its cozy, and it's my favorite school.
I've been attending Granite High School through many high schools through my education and Granite High School has by far been the best. The small amount of students that attend the school make it so much easier to find friends. Everyone is so close to eachother and everyone literally knows everyone. The bonds between us are very strong and there are NO cliques at this school.Everyone's accepting of everyone else. Another huge advantage of having a small community is that the teachers can give us one on one time and because of the small class sizes they know specifically what each student needs and can do. I think the only drawback to Granite High is there are no sports or music programs. If you like a small close school community I'd recommend this school.
I love this school. Everybody here gets along really well and everyone knows each other. There are no fights, no arguments, no violence. The teachers get along well with the students and the students get along well with the teachers. Everybody feels welcome and nobody feels left out. This school is just freaking awesome and I am sad that I have to leave after this year. This school is really a home to me. I know everyone, everyone knows me. Everybody gets involved in school activities and contributes to them. I love this school. Granite rocks!
I happen to go to this school, the school is not so great. There are lots of bad thing that happen there.I do think that the school has inproved but not all of the students take school seriously. There is lots of fights.I might change schools next year.I hope that students improve and that they take school more serious.
Granite High School changed my life. I loved every minute I spent there. I was very involved. You had a chance to do whatever you wanted, to make something of your stereotypical public education. Teachers really made an effort to be your friend, to teach you more than the curriculum, to teach you long lasting life lessons. I miss Kaly and Draper, best english teachers I've ever had. The students connected with each other and made the best out of what they had. 'She is calling, calling, to you ever- Honor the Grand ol' G! ' Meggan Fenton
We are a small school which had problems in the past. But thats all changed now we have great teachers and faclty adn we are jamin with the other students now. We aren't a typical student body anymore with gangs and groups you can walk down the halls and not worry about anyone judgeing you or haveing to worry about the kids your with. With haveing such a small school we have small classes that let the techers really get to know us and we get to know them like i know two of my teachers have a myspace and one of them plays guitar as his after hours job and is really good. I feel like Granite is more of a home then a school we can talk to our teachers about anything not just school and they tell us about there lives as well can you say that?
Granite High School is a small school with a big heart. As a small learning community, our students knows all their classmates and the teachers know all the students. The students have many opportunities to shine and are encouraged by the faculty and staff. Our principal and vice principal are awesome. The faculty and staff really care about our students. Student succeed here, graduate and continue their education in a college or other training school. Go it, Granite!
I used to go to this school and really liked it. But once I transferred to Cottonwood, I realized it wasn't that great. There were very few class opportunities, clique problems and snotty kids, the sports were abysmal. The teachers were pretty good though at Granite. I wouldn't recommend sending your kids here. There are no sports and very few classes to take. Also, kids aren't disciplined the way they should be. You could get away with anything here. That made it a very unsafe environment. There were fights all the time when I went here.
It's really unfortunate, what the Granite school board has chosen to do with this school. It is such a great school. It is so rich in tradition and history. The student body is very diverse. Some people say the teachers and the education at Granite aren't as good as it would be at Olympus, or Skyline, but it is. And I think one thing everyone should know is that the students at Granite are getting not only an academic education but a real world education as well. We are learning how important it is to accept others with ethnic differences, and being in the area we are in, many kids have bad home lives, and because of Granite they can make their lives better. Everyone here is treated equally, and we are getting so many opportunities we wouldn't get at other schools.
