Fantastic for several reasons: the Adelante program, the violin program, the active on-sight community garden program, the wonderfully positive behavior and regular rewards programs, the sweet tear-jerker monthly assemblies put on by the different grade levels, the regular parent volunteer mtgs, the sweet and humble atmosphere created by the Title 1 community. This is a school where several teachers and college professors commute to bring their own children (this speaks very highly for this school!) The former principal, Mrs. Buendia did amazing things to help turn this school around, dramatically, 7 or 8 years ago. Last years interrim principal, Dr. Gray, kept up the momentum, and this years new principal was the former assist. principal...We are looking forward to many more great years at Jackson!
The wealth of diversity is astounding! It's a wonderful place both educationally and culturally.
