My son transferred here mid-year his 2nd grade year due to a move from another neighborhood in the area. We weren't very impressed with the school, its administration or its teachers. He attended a different school in the same district and our experience was so much better. Here at Riley we had almost no interaction with the principle or administration, and even when requested very little involvement with his teacher. My son would come home frustrated and discouraged because his class was so rowdy and disruptive, it seemed his teacher didn't have a good grasp on disciplining his students and the class was very overcrowded, something like 35 students in his class which is just far too many in my opinion. Perhaps it is the low income area, maybe lack of funding and perhaps high population of students but it was just not a great experience. I honestly felt his teacher just let him coast through the year which was a huge detriment to him because when he transferred to a new school for third grade he wasn't prepared for the challenges. Overall very disappointed with our half of a year experience here at this school.
