Utah Online(Washington County Online School) based out of St. George is such a great school option. It is flexible with no strict daily schedules imposed on you by the school, and so allows my family to do extensive traveling. It uses the K12 curriculum as well as Rosetta Stone, Aleks math, Code Changers and Starfall to name a few. You are assigned a teacher based on your county and there are lots of field trips and activities within your area. There are no required face-time lessons in a virtual classroom, but there is a lot of mentoring and support available, as well as bookclubs that meet online. We started with Utah Online because my son was so bored in traditional school. Now all my kids are learning way more than they would in a traditional school setting. A parent or guardian is required to assist the student as an at-home learning coach, but even with that my kids(3) and I are done by lunch. This is our second year and my 7th grader gets jealous at all the extra stuff her younger 2 siblings are learning because she never got to learn it in a brick and mortar school - like dinosaurs, the human brain and Spanish! We are so glad to be in this school.
Washington Online, which is now Utah Online School, is wonderful. They provide free, flexible curriculum and offer support without being overbearing. I have a daughter in 6th grade, a son in 3rd grade, and a daughter using their preschool program. This is our second year with them. Before this, I home schooled and we tried public school. This is the best mix. We have the freedom and flexibility of home, but the added support of a school with lots of field trips and teacher input when we ask for it. We don't have to provide samples of work or keep track of hours. We just show progress and keep up with online assessments. They have clubs and incentives available. They are a great school.
Washington Online uses the K12 program. They are wonderful to work with. The principal is amazing. Their test scores aren't great (in case you look those up) but that's because there are several special needs kids involved and it's all based on parent teaching since it's online and at home.
