My children have gone to Pioneer Elementary for 4 years and they have had excellent, caring teachers each year. As I have volunteered at this school I have seen this excellence reach from the principal and office staff to the custodian and aides. This is a school where my children feel safe and have all of their academic needs met to the fullest. I cannot image my children going to any other school!

My son has not participated in any events such as a Halloween parade, singing program, or Christmas program because this school does not do any programs. We lose our sense of community when we have no common events to share. Teachers have all been good though.

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Utah used the Utah Criterion-Referenced Test (CRT) to test students in grades 1 through 11 in language arts, in grades 1 through 7 in math, in grades 4 through 9 in science and upon completion of certain courses in grades 8 through 11. The results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for all grades combined for each subject. The CRT is a standards-based testing program, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Utah. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
