This has been a wonderful school for my children to attend. The principal has changed this year and we have felt a great energy and community involvement. Sudbury School is an asset for the town and continues to support our children in the kind of education they deserve. The three teachers are young full of energy and devoted to the students. I would recommend this town and school to anyone. Such attention in a public school is hard to find.
The school is down to 20 children with 3 full time teachers and a full time principal/teacher, as well as a full time secretary. Despite these numbers, and what I feel are 3 excellent, young teachers, the school is failing. The principal constantly degrades children in lower income brackets, and stifles the creativity in the young teachers. She has alienated the community, and refuses to allow the communty to attend school functions. The school board supports her, because she tells them what they want to hear. There has been 100% turnover in the staff over the past 3 years- remarkable in the educational field. The school is one reason not to buy a home in this town.
