I love Rockfish River Elementary School because the teachers and staff not only get to know your child, they truly care about the children. It's nice to go into your child's classroom and see other teachers, principal or asst. principal visiting to see how the kids are doing. The school focuses on reading and physical activity which are both important for the kids development. The most important thing is that my daughter loves her teacher and going to school!

My oldest child attended Rockfish River in grades 1 to 3. Many of the teachers were first rate, and my son became an avid reader under the care of an excellent teacher who worked hard with him. Most of his teachers were fantastic. I had difficulties with some of the school policies and when I approached the adminstration and the teachers I hit a brick wall for the most part. There was a real sense of top down management which reluctanty allowied parent involvemnent. I felt this school had the potential of being great, but a closed mindedness held it back. I hope that has changed under it's new management because it is a fantastic community of people and a wonderful place to live. The school has so much going for it - it just really needed to listen with real interest to the needs of the growing community.
