Everything in the school is great and the teachers are friendly but I DO NOT RECOMMEND this school to ANYONE because they don't focus on your subjects and when you go ask them what they missed, they don't answer you. there are lots of BULLY in school and they bother you and make fun of you.
Dominion Trial is a wonderful school with a supportive environment for kids with special needs and those in regular classroom. The leadership recently changed this year and the morale is wonderful. Teachers are innovative and support kids in learning and meeting goals. There is a very active PTA organization and various after-school enrichment programs that enhance what is taught in the classroom! I couldn't;t ask for a more committed dedicated staff. The school is located in Ashburn Village and is a must for anyone relocating to Northern Virginia.....
I have had three children attend this school and couldn't be happier. My older daughter has an IEP for learning disabilities and was accomadated very well. My youngest son has severe physical disabilities and has been well accepted and had many accomadations put in place for him. Administrators are excellent, teachers are wonderful too. Loudoun County has many services and programs in place. Parents are exetremely active and involved. No safety issues whatsoever, excellent community that has tons of amenties including one of the only indoor pools in the area. I would recommmend this school without hesitation...
My son attended 2nd grade to 5th grade in this school. He loved it, and he made very good friends, as it is a friendly environment for every kid. Many kids from this school attend Gifted and Talented program one day a week. Teachers take care of the lessons missed, and provide the students with material for the missed classes.
I have been associated with Dominion Trail since 2004 when my son entered the 1st grade. Currently I have a 5th grader and a 1st grader enrolled. Overall we have been very pleased with the school. My children are thriving, happy and safe in this school environment. DTES has a very tight knit and community oriented group of parents, teachers and staff who jump in to help and support each other. It has been a great elementary school experience for my children and I. There have been ups and downs here and there, but overall I would highly recommend this school to anyone.
We moved to Loudoun County because of the schools and are very happy we did. My son started kindergarten there, we could not have been more happy with the teacher and how much he learned that first year. He is now in first grade and again, we are very happy. Those parents that gave this school a so so review are just a few, the majority of the parents are extremely happy. If your not happy with your school, get involved and make a change. The only thing that I see that needs to be done is not with the school, it's with the parents who don't get their children to school on time.
We are a new family to the school and compared to the previous school our children attended, this school lacks a cohesive feel. We and several of our neighbors are enrolling our children in private schools.
Fabulous school with high quality teachers, varied students from all parts of the world, many enrichment activities. One of the finest public schools in America I believe.
These facts are not accurate. You say that there are few teachers who have been at the school for ten plus years. This is correct...because the school is not yet ten years old! This is not an 'older' school as you say, but is becoming more diverse, which can only enrich the culture and education of the students at the school. The teachers at the school are dedicated and in some instances well respected thoughout the county as well as being recognized at state conventions for presentations that exhibit thoughtful and innovative teaching practices that involve student participation and encourage student achievement. There is also plenty of involvement by both parents and the PTA. The test scores as well as student attitudes reflect the success of these programs.
Not one of the best in the area. An 'older' school, with many dual income homes, busy families, and a little unity in the community. Some bullying occurs in the school and within the community and the school, like in other parts of the state the the nation, is preoccupied with test scores over more thought-provoking projects for the students. Their exist few after school activities supported by the school or at the school, the PTA is not a huge influence, and many of the teachers are newish and green. There are a few gems of teachers who have been at this school for 10+ years, they are worth it!
