Not a very good school. Highly disappointed in the way the teachers are. Seems like they lack experience with children. They need a better understanding of a child's needs. My nephew's new school brought to my attention that he needed to be tested for ADD. SW Elementary response to his behavior was disappointing. They said he was a loud child, moves around alot, touches people and told his parents that they need to fix his behavior. The private school he attends now monitored him and noticed he sat still, was quiet, but had problems focusing. Bullying is not accepted and well taken care of in his new school.

This is our second year going to this school after getting rezoned. Last year, we gave school some credit coz it was new and teachers were strugling. But this year, our daughter is in a higher grade and we are finding this school very disappoinnting. The teacher:student ratio is high (28 in our case). teacchers dont have time to check home work. our particular teacher do not send any notes back so there is no connection. We are seriously considering selling our home to move to a better school district or moving our child to private school.

We are in our second year of this school. My child is in 1st grade and has a disability. At the beginning, the school didn't seem to be able to accommodate my child due to what I feel was because it was in it's first year. Never the less, the staff were very willing to learn, help and accommodate my child. We have grown together and I am very happy with the school's effort. Everyone from the front office staff to the principal are very personable and always happy and smiling. It's a very welcoming feeling. My child is thriving and doing very well.

My community go rezoned to this School about a year or two ago. Like many of our neighbors we were awfully disappointed with the move. However, I have found my daughter who is a 1st grader love this school so far. I would like to credit her teacher Ms. Barisano for the excellent work she has been doing. Considering the challenges the school faces, I am not sure if we would continue to send her to this school for higher grades. We are looking at moving to a different school district within Loudoun.

We have been at Steuart Weller for two years now. The first year was difficult because it was a brand new school. It just opened in 2008/2009 year and had all the problems associated with a new school. However, the second year has been great. The principal is opened to parent opinion and she has adapted changes that benefit the children. The teachers have challenged both my sons academically and pushed them to excel much farther than the school they attended before. Plus the school has been very accomodating to my son who has food allergies. Overall moving to this school has been a positive experience.

After one semester at this school we realized that our child learned more in kindergarten at Mill run. Due to an unfortunate case of redistricting we were moved to Steuart Weller. The district did not provide for the minimal of activities and the teachers were over burdened and under supported by the staff. Even though Loudoun County is one of the top school districs in the country, we ended up having to pay tuition to send our child to private school.
