I have had children at Irisburg school for the past 7 years. The teachers are wonderful to work with! They truly care about my children and talk to me weekly about their progress. The parent involvement is wonderful with the PTO. I just hate the school is closing this year and the children with have to adjust to a new school.

I have had children in Irisburg Elementary school since 1999 and each one of the teachers that has taught my children have been wonderful. I now only have one child there and it will be a sad day when she has to leave. I know that in the middle and high schools my children will not get the attention and care that they have gotten at Irisburg.

I have two children that are enrolled at Irisburg. This is their second year here. They transferred from another school within the county. I have seen a tremendous change in their behavior and grades. Both of them are principal's scholars. This school is wonderful and there is a lot of support from both administration and staff. To me, if a child does not improve in every area, in this environment then it must be the children or the parents who are raising the children.

I have four children in the school as of the 2005-2006 year and only 1 is excelling. I am frustrated with the level of support I receive with regards to help for my children. I was told they need the help but when I made suggestions as to what has worked in the past for my kids I was told, 'I am sorry, I cannot do that' and then I am left with no other choice...!? There are no sports programs that I am aware of at this school. That also plays hand-in-hand with the level of parental involvement as I am not told very much at all. I have to agree that 40% of the staff are just in attendance and do not care.

This is a great school. The teachers care about the students, but the administration just wants to get by with as little trouble as possible.

Wow! What a wonderful environment for children. The faculty and staff are supportive and friendly! The students love their school. The teachers at Irisburg go the extra mile to help your child if they need any help.

I would extimate that 60% of the teachers at Irisburg Elementary are very good teachers. If your child happens to have one of the approximately 40% that are very poor teachers, it will be a long school year for you. Don't expect much help from the principal. Every since Mr. Moore left about 5 years ago the great feeling you had when you entered the school left right along with him.
