Blackstone Primary School

My daughter has attended Blackstone Primary for over a year now and we absolutely love it! We've traveled quite a bit and this is the best school by far! Her teachers have been amazing and the principle, while businesslike, is great too. Last school year (Fall2010-Spring2011), my daughter attended three different schools and was far behind her peers when she started BPS. With the help of a good teacher and an amazing after-school tutoring program, she's all caught up! Everything from the friendly staff to their many after-school programs (every day except Friday there is SOMETHING that lasts until 4:30-5pm!) to the technology they're using in the library and classrooms just impresses both my husband and I.

I have one child in this school and I have to be honest. This is a terrible school. My family has moved around and my child has attended a couple of different schools and compared to his other schools this one by far is the worst. The teacher my son has does not communicate any concerns or basically anything. The principal also is no that bright and to my standards does a very poor job. Just not the best school. Very disappointed!

My child has been at this school for about three months. To be honest, it so far is the worst school he has attended. There is a huge lack of communication from the teachers. The teaching is questionable. My child's grades have dropped from As and Bs to Cs and Ds. I don't think the teachers really want to teach! Anyway, so far those are my thoughts. Thankfully he starts a different Nottoway school next year. I pray it is better than the primary school. If not I will home-school!

I have two children at Blackstone Primary School. This school has the best principal of any school that I know of. She is hard working, very involved with each child, and goes above and beyond the call of duty to make the school a success. The teachers that my children have had are excellent; they inform me any time their is a situation at hand. I would send my children to public school rather than private any day.
