I LOVE the Tradition of Excellence and Culture of Caring at Boyce Elementary School!
This school is wonderful. You could not pay for a better school for your children!
Amazing teachers and one on one support to all students... Great leaders
Boyce Elementary School has a program called Cardinal Choices, which reminds students and staff to make good decisions every day. This program focuses on good manners in their daily life, treating others with respect and kindness and looking out for the welfare of each other. Cardinal Choices is a simple program yet the rewards are huge. We are so glad our family is a Boyce Elementary family!
Boyce is the BEST place to work because the staff is friendly and caring. I hve worked at Boyce for 9 years and have loved every minute of it! The staff is truly here to work and support each other and the students.
This school was very satisfying for my children. We have only been here for two years but out of all of the schools that my children have attended including one of the best private schools in the state, I would say overall it is great. The staff and teachers are really caring, my son started kindergarten in 2008 and before it started they made him feel that they knew him. His sister went for 5th grade and they always made him feel welcome then as well. Kudos
This school was very disappointing. My child's kindergarten class had 23 children with one teacher and no help. Outdoor recess on average, in the winter, was twice a month, and once in got warmer, still only averaging 3 days a week. Most times, recess was not substituted with anything. I'm sorry but kindergarteners cannot be expected to sit in a classroom for 7 hours without some sort of run-around time. The incentive system of giving out 'cardinals' just teaches kids to be good only because someone is looking and they will get a reward, not because it is the right thing to do. I saw many times when the cardinals were just used as failed bribery attempts. With such a big class, and many students with discipline problems tying up staff members' attention, my son really failed to thrive at all at this school. We will not be returning.
Boyce is an absolutely wonderful school. Mrs. Eberhart is a wonderful hands on assistant principle. I love that the school ratio is small. This school has a lot of one on one teaching skills with the students.
Mrs. Catlett is probably the best principal in the state. Boyce is all about family, community, excellence. We couldn't be happier with our child's education and experience there. Awesome!
We are most pleased with the school. We have two sons who have received a great education from caring teachers and hands on administrators (Dr. Modlin & Mrs. Catlett). It is so small it feels like a private school but has the diversity of a public school.
