I will never recommend anyone to send their children at Westfield Boyd school. I am very disappointed at the teacher's treatments towards my son. Teacher is very cold/ rude and not being cooperative with parents. But she thinks she is the world best teacher.

My two daughters started the school three years ago (beginning in the toddler room and transitioned to the primary class). They enjoy learning, LOVE the teachers, and are happy going to school everyday! The school is year-round and they have a great Montessori program. The teachers are caring and dedicated and follow "the whole child"- not just the academics. The admin has been supportive of all my family's needs. I plan to continue sending my girls to school because this environment best suits them and they love it! It makes me happy to see the progress (socially, intellectually, emotionally, and physically) in the three years we have been here. I recommend this school to all our family and friends because I couldn't be any happier than here at The Boyd School.

After convincing my husband to send our daughter to the Boyd for their primary program and spending over $30k ( a car!), I can honestly say this was the biggest waste of money and THE worst investment I have ever made. My daughter is now in second grade and in public school and I can't say the Montessori program at Boyd did anything to help further her education. We would have been better off sending her to public school or kindergarten and saved the $10kplus and put her in extra lessons after school. The last year we were there was absolutely the worst! Our teacher left mid-year and the teacher that replaced her was a glorified babysitter. The school is in a very convenient area for us and the facilities are nice and even though I now have younger children, I will never send another child back to this school. Such a shame too because this was once a very very prestigious school in the area, it was THE school to send your child to. It's no longer seen that way. I think the economy, under appreciation of the staff and plain mismanagement by the ownership is to blame. Needless to say, I do not recommend sending your child to the Boyd.

I have two children at the Boyd School. One is in the Upper Elementary class and the other in Lower Elementary. Both my children have excelled past my expectations! They are both challenged daily to explore their passions and are truly happy learning! The teachers and staff are dedicated in what they do and have a true understanding of the Montessori philosophy.

Our daughter has been in this school for the past almost one year and we have been thrilled with the progress we have seen. Her teachers are exceptional and there has not been any change in her teachers since she started in the primary class. They are warm and caring and they do shake hands as mentioned in another review. However, they also hug and show much compassion for their students. My daughter has been so happy since starting at this school. Being a montessori parent I am able to see that her teachers really do follow a true montessori philosophy of teaching. We are quite happy with our decision to send her to Boyd.

My son attended the Boyd School for about a year and although he started with a great teacher, his class cycled through 3 different teachers without giving any notification to the parents and I lost count of how many different assistants. They are not interested in helping the student and like other parents have said "no teacher engagement and poor education." I am very dissapointed in this school and it is a tarnish on the Montessori name - as I once highly respected it. The only positive is the food included with the tuition and the facility; however, that is not reason enough for any parent to send their child here. Don't waste your childs' time or precious mind at this place .

My daughter was at their pre primary (3-5) for 3 wks and we have to pull her out. The teachers were VERY cold and unfriendly. No hugs just hand shakes. This school would be great for kids that are use to being with nanny/daycare situation from when they are very young so this did not work for us. My daughter was only there for half day and she would be be cowering in a corner and runs to the door when she sees me. It was heartbreaking and very upsetting for a parent to see. We ended up paying the 3 month penalty just so we can take her out of that school. It happened to another family as well and the father found us online. They were told that my daughter was a "danger" so she was let go.... Very disorganized there as well since somehow I continue to get updates from them. Guess kids have to switch teachers in the middle of the school year or something like that My daughter is now in a different school. Very happy and thriving!!!!!

The teachers are great and very dedicated. I am sending my child to this school only coz the teacher is good. But the adminstration is hopeless. They are just there to listen to you, but do not have any power to do anything in response. The after care is one of the most poorly managed place I have ever seen. Totally in-expericed care givers. I am very very frustrated.

I do not recommend the Boyd School, I had a terrible experience. The Boyd School is not a true Montessori School. They are not AMI Certified and they don't truly follow the Montessori methods. I withdrew my child after 5 months due to the lack of teacher engagement and the poor quality of education my child was receiving. My child has been in Montessori for over three years, but regressed at the Boyd School. The facility is nice and the meals included in the price of tuition is a nice feature. However, the Teachers seem stressed and the Administration priority is the bottom-line. I witnessed conflict between the Teachers and Administration. My child had six different Teachers in a five month time span. The Teachers and the Administration are condescending and will not answer direct questions. The Boyd School is one highest priced pre-schools, therefore I expected a higher quality, but what I experienced was the exact opposite. The Teachers were cold and unhappy. That type of environment reflected onto the students. I moved my child to another Montessori school. My child is excelling in the other school and is happier than at the Boyd School.

The teachers are EXCEPTIONAL! My child has attended The Boyd School (Westfield) for several years. This could be a truly great school if the owners would support the staff and provide the funding to fix and upgrade the materials and support the teachers with the equipment and supplies that are needed to run the class rooms.

The administration of this school is ONLY concerned about $ and the bottom line. There is currently no director at the Westfields campus because the previous director wanted to do what was right for the children, and the administration wouldn't listen. Although some of the teachers are great, they aren't allowed to truly focus on the children because of the administrative fiascos. Just ask about the recent drop in enrollment and that will be a clue about what direction this school is headed. They also aren't AMI certified and don't truly follow a Montessori program so don't be fooled if that's what you are looking for.

My daughter has been at the Boyd school for three years now, and we absolutely love it. The teachers are dedicated and are really interested in bringing out the best in each student. The school also gives the students a lot of exposure to non-traditional forms of learning, like guest lecturers, field trips, etc. Also, love the large classrooms, and the variety of learning material, which truly make for a great learning experience. My daughter can t wait to get to school each morning, and I think that speaks volumes for the quality of education here.
