Does not instill Christian values. For what you are paying. Extreme caddiness within the staff. Unprofessiona!. Teacher blaims a 3 year old for making her cry and then cries infront of the parent. Repeat a 3 year old. The staff can't handle anything but perfect... Has to call you every day to come get your child. But can never get your phone number right and then want to blaim you. You pay $624 a month for them to demand to pick them up. If you can't handle a children then why have a school? Got child evaluated twice. A normal 3 year old with nurmal behaviors. Something is wrong here. Would not Rec. your child to go there. Head Pastor doesn;t care to listen. Doesn;t protect his children or parents.

My daughter has attended this school since kindergarten and I cannot say enough good things about the school. Caring teachers, challenging curriculum, Christ-centered education, Christian administrators-- I could go on and on. This has been the most positive experience for not only my daughter but for us as a family. If the school offered more grades beyond 5th, my daughter would be here for all of them. She is very sad at leaving this school family but at the same time, very grateful for what she has received here. I can recommend this school whole-heartedly and without reservation !!!!

What an excellent school! The staff truly cares for the kids. The class sizes are small and the academic expectations exceed the level of the local public schools. The communication between the teachers and myself is almost an everyday occurence. I have never felt disconnected with the school. The school offers field trips, elective classes, and extracurricular activites that exceed expectations for such a small school environment. As a private school option, it is very affordable and a real educational bargain. My child has attended this school since kindergarten and is very sad that this fifth grade year is to be the last year. We would continue in the school if it were an option. This school is a hidden gem in Chesapeake.

Wow - I am truly surprised to read the post from July. This is my second school year with GEC and I couldn't be more pleased. Can't say enough about how happy I am personally and all that I've heard regarding the high level learning for the academic school (my daughter's are in pre-school). Certainly no school is going to be perfect, but I think they are the best kept secret in Chesapeake! Highly recommend. But, go there - meet the administrative staff and teachers and see for yourself. They will openly show you the curriculum and answer any questions you have.

Comparatively the cost is low but you get what you pay for. My child spent five months there before we realized it was not the environment for us. Bullying is tolerated; many times we weren t even told. Positive feedback was rare while criticisms were regularly distributed. Rules and policies were not consistently adhered to or enforced. This was hardly a positive experience and I regret that we subjected our child for as long as we did.

This school is amazing! You and your children become part of large, supportive family. They expect a lot of our children but every kid rises up to meet the goals. They develop the whole child, mentally and spiritually. They also use a lot of hands on learning..science experiments, languages and tons of field trips. This school is the best thing that has happened to our whole family!

Children are grouped by age starting at 2 years old and going up to the 5th grade. It s a small school that seems more like a family. Learning starts early and is it made an adventure. Teachers expect high achievements from the kids. Staff is strict but there is caring blended it with it. There is not a big turnover with teachers so they tend to get to know the students even before they teach them. There is a lot of interaction with students and teachers. We have been very pleased with the daycare part of the school and look forward to entering the kindergarten. I highly recommend the daycare and the school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
