Mr. Winfree is key to the safety of the children at this school and he does an INCREDIBLE job with staying aware (he always knows when and where classes are and somehow seems to personally know most students and their parents). He is also one of the first people to greet my child with a smile every morning and my son truly enjoys interacting with him.
At my child's other school this was actively taught, regularly spoken about and modeled. This school has never mentioned it and most students I encounter here (to no fault of their own) have no respect for property or period as they aren't being taught how to and why it's important.
The sheer amount of diversity at this school is a great opportunity and environment for compassion and empathy. However, I also feel that it's fairly important to the staff as well as most seem to be truly compassionate outsole themselves.
This school has no set standards for a teacher's curriculum, therefore what a child is taught varies from teacher to teacher which can effect the child in the coming year when they're expected to know things they've not been taught. The school also has extremely our communication 26th parents. They call for EVERY fundraising event yet failed to contact us about a suspicious man lurking around the school, or when my child was hurt at school.
