My grandson love the Grassfield H S and he said the education is very very upgraded

I have attended Grassfield since it opened in 2007. I am now a senior, and I feel it is the best school in Chesapeake. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Grassfield's SOL scores exceed the average and it is because of the teachers that truly care about their students. I would have gone to Great Bridge had Grassfield not been built, but I am so glad I went to Grassfield because I have met friends from the other feeder schools and feel extremely prepared for college. For the parent who most recently reviewed Grassfield, I could be wrong, (this will sound harsh, and I apologize) but you must not have a child at Grassfield, because you would realize there are many outlets for students to succeed.

Grassfield H.S. is CLEARLY disingenuous and a huge deception. They may offer superior programs for their students, & their focus and attention is on those who are gifted, athletically or academically! They are excessively focused on their SOL S and the provided assistance for SAT S. Not all other Chesapeake Public High School s can provide such. They have no acceptance for the children who are not on grade-level and who have special academic needs. Some of these kids are not on grade-level because CPS has failed to provide an appropriate education in their years prior to H.S. If a student does not fit into the high achiever category, then they have no time or space for that child. They are taking mass amounts of credit for their likely to succeed students and they provide little to no assistance for the students who

It has an excellent chorus program and does well in Chorus competitions. It has a competitive theater program also. The AP teachers work hard to get students their college credits.

No wonder the rest of the parents in chesapeake were upset with the staffing of GFHS. They have the best administration and teaching staffs in chesapeake. The other high schools will be playing catch up for years.

In my 12 years of teaching, I have never been happier. The technology is awesome for both the students and teachers. GFHS certainly has what it takes to prepare the community's young people for a successful future. Way to go Grizzlies on a terrific first year!

This is a wonderful high school. Although it is a brand new school, I didn't have any hesistation about sending my child to this school. The principal is great, the staff is supportive and the teachers care about the students. This is a technologically advanced high school with a great selection of extra curricular activities. Go Grizzlies!
