We had 4 beautiful children ,adopted 7 beautiful and had 11 grandchildren and all but 6 grandchildren attended Christiansburg Elememtary and we were always pleased with the staff and curriculim at CES. The staff is great, the playground is very nice and the cafeteria is always clean. My youngest child is in 5th grade at CES this year.

I've taught at many schools and have found the quality of the teachers to be among the best. The principal shows concern and has a great knowledge of academic and discipline matters.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Virginia used the Standards of Learning (SOL) tests to assess students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8, writing in grades 5 and 8, and science in grades in 3, 5 and 8. The SOL tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Virginia. The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
