We love how this Town has so much for the kids to do !! and rally around each other! We like to go the the High School games as a family, everything is just charming like Mayberry !!

My son started in the first grade one month into the year from another state. Colonial Beach schools are way behind academically from his former school. He has learning disabilities and language problems. I have been in the principal's office with Miss Britt many times asking for help. Nothing has been done. My son has been bullied, I notified the teacher and she punished my son not the one that did the bullying. He is the type of child that loves school, but since moving here, he begs me not to make him go. My son who never got in trouble in his last school, is getting in trouble everyday here. The principal promised she would test my son to see if he needed to be moved into another class, but nothing was ever done. The school doesn't care about the kids or make school fun along with learning. I cannot wait to move so my son can get a better education that what Colonial Beach can give him.

My son has been in several different schools over the past few years and by far this is the best. The communication is amazing. Every time we have a concern, all the teachers respond by email immediately. We have had 2 conferences this year already and we know that the issue is NOT the school. All of the teachers and staff seem very involved and willing to do anything it takes to make the kids understand something, and not pushed along. There is after school tutuoring and online websites that have been given several times throughout the year. I love this school.

My children attended Colonial Beach schools and did very well for themselves. I now have a 6 yr. old g'son in the school! He will be fine, because our teachers are some of the VERY BEST! I love this town and it's schools! My daughter was academic and my son was athletic. My children graduated high school due to the persistence of teachers. I believe the teachers in Colonial Beach really care! I also believe the School Board cares as well, and will attend to the concerns of our school system... Love all of you! T. DiRosario

I love this school so much. everyone is very nice and helpful. i have NEVER had a problem with this school and my childs teacher (ms. smith) is such a great teacher my son loves her. Whenever there is a problem she brings it to my attention right away. there is nothing bad i can say about this school.

I have to look at the school lunch calender to know when there is a teacher workday and when the school is letting out early, I'm given a 15 minute notice. This is not good for a mother and father that work over 30 minutes away!

When my son was enrolled in Colonial Beach Elementary Schools, he was classed as 'emotionally and mentally disabled', but thanks to the diligence and caring of his teachers and speach therapists, he's not only talk fluidly, he just read this without help: 4th day of Christmas 1 Revenge of the Sith DVD for Kyle 1 Polar Express DVD for Ben 5th day of Christmas 1 Batman Begins DVD for Ben 1 The Love Bug DVD for Kyle We're in Durham now, but we will never forget what his teachers did for him. Thank you, a thousand times, for what you did for my son.
