We put our three children in the Academy when we moved to the area in 2004. We couldn't be more pleased. The teachers all really care about the students. The curriculum is challenging, but not overwhelming. Our children have learned so much and made life-long friends there. There is a real sense of community at the school.
Headmaster Jones changes everything but is overall a good guy and knows what he's doing a portion of the time.
Southampton Academy has exceeded my expectations. The teachers are talented, it is a safe environment and the school has presented some of the finest scholastic achievers to many outstanding Colleges and Universities. I am enthusiastic about the new lower school and the new headmaster starting in the fall. My children have blossomed due to the small classroom size.
Southampton Academy has been a wonderful experience for my children. My son has benefited from the small classroom sizes, talented teachers and the overall academic programs. Since my children are in the elementary school, I am excited about the new school that is in the process of being built and the new Headmaster that will be joining SA in the fall. Southampton Academy is my only choice for my children's education. I feel proud that my children are associated with outstanding students that have been accepted to some of the best Colleges and Universities. With all of the unfortunate occurences of crime in many schools, I am blessed to have SA in my community.
I had a daughter who graduated from SA. Her first year in college, they used one of the books she used in high school. One chapter was different. It was a breeze for her. But I don't believe it's the same school now. Patents and some board members are changing things to make things easier for their kids. The headmaster bends and bows like leaves on the trees. Programs and projects are being dropped that have been in place for years. And these were good projects for the kids, they had to work at them along with their parents. My step daughter left for the county schools this year and it's been great for her. I have one left in this school and I'm thinking about pulling her. I'm not getting my money's worth.
