We recently moved to Eastern Shore and I was very concerned about finding a really great school environment that matched what we had in an East coast metro region. I admit, I had my concerns, but the teachers I met seemed quite exceptional and we decided to give Eastern shore a try. Wow, what a great experience we have had! Beyond the solid, fundamental academics, my child's class has been very focused on all aspects of their development including their commitment to community and how to be a good friend. The small class size (compared to what we were use to) meant that the teacher has been able to focus on my child's specific needs. I am no longer worried if we move again, my child will be disadvantaged from being on the Eastern Shore. Broadwater has been an amazing part of our move here. I am thankful for the school community.

My daughter has attended BA for 3 years now and my son will start in the fall. BA is a family-oriented school that prides themselves on their commitment to the kids. I have seen no other school that compares! Academics and well-being of the student are what the school stands for and they deliver! I am proud that my kids have this opportunity!

Broadwater is a school that offers dedicated, caring faculty who care about not only the academic aspect of a child, but their overall mental, emotional and physical development as well. Teachers go above and beyond to assist these great kids in any area they can. There is a strong sense of family and there is a strong relationship between families and teachers/ administrators. As a former BA student, current BA parent and teacher, I am proud of what the school has to offer families.

I will never recommend parents to let their kids go there. It's a nightmare experience for us.

I went to Broadwater K-12; my child is going there now, as will my other children, God willing. They teach more than just academics; they teach morals.....something not seen in the public schools on the ES. Some others have posted that students are snobbish; and yes, there are snobs there; BUT....there are snobs in every school!! Most of the students there come from hard working, middle class families. The public schools on the Shore are so bad that you have no other choice... even public school teachers send their children to BA!! Broadwater allowed me an advantage once I went to college too, as I placed out of the entry level courses into more advanced levels. I feel like I am and my children will be better people haivng been to Broadwater.

I grew up on the Eastern Shore and attended Broadwater from 1-12. The student environment can be as the 9/17 poster described, but what choice do you have in this area. My children attend and will graduate from B.A. as long as we live on the Shore. It is expensive , but the public school environment leaves alot to be desired. I'm not affluent nor is my family. My childrens education is priceless. This is the price you pay for raising kids in this area.

I totally disagree with the 9/17 review. I began Broadwater in the 8th grade and had a great time there. People there were wonderful.

From a academic standpoint the quality of education is excellent. However, if you are new to the area and considering Broadwater for a middle or upper school student. Think again. Unless your child grew up going to Broadwater you will be an outcast. Very clickish and extremely snobby environment. More geared to the affluent families on the astern shore.
