School was listed as one of top schools in Washington DC metro area. Does a great job in preparing kids for college and seeking excellence through an engaging curriculum.
A really different (maybe inspiring) school. Its embrace of 'Essential School' principles (Less is More; Authentic Assessment; A Collaborative Environment) makes it one of the most interesting, successful and engaging schools in the greater Washington area. Parents should note that it is college prep and makes a real effort to match students well with colleges. In many respects the school itself is reminiscent of a small liberal college although in a more modest setting.
This website incorrectly states that the New School is a Christian school. It is not affiliated with any religious organization. Great small school. Casual environment where students are respected. Very interesting and unusual curriculum.
