The area in which Grace is located makes it possible for students to do things in and around DC that most kids don't have the chance to experiance. I loved having music and art classes every week and performing our music in front of the congregation on Sunday mornings. Grace really helped me improve my learning habits becasue it challenged me more than any other school I went to.
The school offers excellent academic instruction. Grace Lutheran School sets high standards for all of its students with the availability of an extended learning program. This is demonstrated in the fact that students score extremely high on standarized tests. The school offers music and art instruction to all students in every grade. The opportunity to participate in sports and ohter extracurricular activities are numerous. Grace teachers are committed to making sure that all children receive outstanding spiritual, intellectual and physical instruction. The love expressed by the teachers and the low student to teacher ratio makes this a reality. Come visit the school and see for yourself how safe, happy and involved the children, parents and teachers are in every aspect of the school.
The principal at Grace does an amazing job. The teachers are easily accesible and the low student to teacher ratio allows them to reach each students' needs. Being so close to D.C. affords the students countless opportunities for hands-on learning in our nations capital.
The school sets high standards in academics and challenges my children. Many parents are involved in helping support the children, especially for off-campus activities. The school is s mall, clean and safe with a good student to teacher ratio.
The quality of instruction is good in grades K-4, as are the teachers. Overall management leaves a lot to be desired, as is reflected in the lack of willing parent volunteers. Physical plant is above average for private schools, except for the computers (which seldom work well). Also, a science lab exists but apprarently is no longer in use.
