Central Academy Middle school provided my children with a great middle school experience. It's small, but offers the same opportunities as the other middle school in the County.

This school is lax on keeping accurate records, I regret having sent my daughter to this school. It is a constant up hill battle to have them get basic information up to date. The most recent problem is an old legal address popped up so I got accused of a crime by not living in the county and have to prove myself innocent after being found guilty first. The principal gets paid a great deal of money and this is controversial in this county. For the mistakes being made I think it is a way overpaid position. Signed, Ricky Martin

My family had great hopes for this school, but it has truly been disappointing. While there are certainly individual teachers who are dedicated and competent in their subjects at this school, the school administration seems happy to let a certain percentage of students pass from grade to grade without mastering subject matter and who continue to fall further behind each year. This is extremely discouraging to children who want to do well but do not receive proper instruction due to either ignorance or lack of concern on the part of educators.

When I was in middle school, that is where I went. My daughter is now a student there. The teachers and staff truly care about the students. They want to see them succeed in life.

My daughter attended this school for the past three years. I was extremely disappointed with most of the teaching staff. My daughter was consistently allowed to do multiple extra credit assignments and turn in projects late for full credit. In my opinion that only helped to reinforce the teenage laziness issue we were having with her. I also tried to stay involved and speak with the teachers regularly but most were not willing to have that type of interaction with me. We have since pulled our daughter from the Botetourt school system and she is thriving in her new environment.

Cams is the absolute best school ever. Everyone is like family, there are no cliques. Every where you turn is a helping hand. I had the best three years of my life at cams

I think CAMS is an awesome school. The teachers work with all students even the ones with bad attitudes. All of the staff is caring and accepts students for who they are. The ones who complains are the ones who are ALWAYS complaining.

i am a parent and disappointed with the lack of interaction from the teachers with the parents. I have offered to available at a moments notice via email, phone and in person, but the only time that i have any interaction with the teachers is during conferences. I would hope that if parents are willing to be involved such a myself that they would take a moment out of their schedule to notify us when an issue occurs. I have also been disappointed by coaches scheduling after school events and then not showing up for them and i have to leave work early to get my child.
