Fredericksburg Montessori School

We think this is a wonderful school for our two children. If I had another child, I would send them there also. The staff is very energetic, young, and qualified. Contrary to the other posted review, we have found the staff working one on one with our children on numberous unannounced visit by myself and my husband. If you want your child to receive a comprehensive and thorough educational experience, send them to this school. This school is building a new facility on Rt. 2 that will be state-of-the-art for a facility that will accommodate elementary age children.

This school is not an accredited 'montessori school'. Our child has regressed by going here. Not enough quality time is spent with each child. The teachers do not give you an evaluation of your child to estimate progress, they will say things like 'oh, he or she is doing well, very generic. The children are directed to areas of the class to spend time alone utilizing different learning tools, but the key word here is alone, and usually not observed. No one on one to help develop writing skills or reading. the child is basically left alone to learn on their own. This would be fine if their was more one on one observation and testing to see if child is progressing. Basically, your child is in a day care with minimal academics.
