Hazelwild Farm Education Foundation

My daughter is in her first year at Hazelwild, and I cannot say enough good things about their school. She's a sensitive child, and her teachers have been wonderful about balancing that sensitivity with the needs of the class. The teachers are kind and involved, and the daily outdoor time (weather permitting) is fantastic. What a great school!

My 3 years old daughter started 2 days a week program during school year 2007. Throughout the year, my daughter received a printed copy of their activity every week It was something we wanted so, we could do the same at home. We also had a very positive experience with the Hazelwild staff. My wife asked their music teacher about what songs they are playing at school so we would try to do the same at home. The music teacher not only provided the names of the songs but she went even further and provided the lyrics for each songs. I strongly recommend this school if you serious about your kids education. We live about 15 miles away and we do have other good preschools in our area. But, we have decided to pursue Hazelwild for the next year as well.

As a single mom new to the area, I have feared the start of school for my young child, to the point of tears. His education is my deepest concern. Since our days at Hazelwild have begun, I have laid my fears to rest. The walls are low, so you can hear and see what is going on in the classrooms, but private enough not to distract the students. The tuition is at a great rate for a private school, especially with this curriculum. With in the first week my son was writing his first name correctly, and legibly. I cannot give enough praise to the teacher's for their positive reinforcement when he had a meltdown. They let the kids play, and interact, and do kid stuff! Hazelwild has a most impressive history as well. I would give 5 stars, through and through.

Kindergarten was an outstanding experience for my child at Hazelwild. The class was small (13 students) and the teacher, Ms. Benoit is superb. All of the students were well socialized and engaged. All students were reading, writing and performing math skills (most well into the first grade level) by the end of the year. Parent involvement was encouraged and supported by Ms. Benoit and there was an outstanding repore between her, the parents and the students. Hazelwild Kindergarten is an excellent location to transition from the home environment to a school setting that is parent and child friendly.

Our family absolutely loves Hazelwild! My 7 year old daughter went there for 2 years K3 and K4. It was the best experience for her, socially and academically. The teachers are very sweet and attentive. We can't wait for our 3 year old daughter to start this coming fall. We went into the school to sign her up and a teacher walked right up to her and knelt down and spoke with her then took her hand and showed her around a class room. Not only are the teachers and staff wonderful but the school setting is just beautiful. You can't get much better than a sunny farm for your child to grow and learn. I WISH the school went all the way to 12th grade...maybe one day! We haven't found a school that can compare to Hazelwild. If they ever added more grades we would sign our girls up.

Unique school that is centered around an active equestrian farm. There are many activities which involve active learning, as opposed to repetetive learning.

Hazelwild has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. They have encouraged her development in many ways. She has been there for pre-school and now kindergarten. The class size is small and the attention she has received has been outstanding. My only complaint is that the school does not go through elementary school. I recommend Hazelwild to anyone looking for a fulfilling and enriching learning environment for their child.

My son loves it! He was scared about going to school and the teachers helped him understand not to be. It is a great place that I cannot recommend enough. The only complaint that I would have would be none. Check this one out for yourself.

The only complaint I can come up with about this school would be the parking! The teachers are excellent, the facilities more than adequate, and the curriculum for these youngsters better than I would've hoped. They offer P.E., Spanish, Music, Art and various home and 'farming' skills. They get to grow various plants and vegetables, visit and learn about the ducks in the pond, and even ride a pony once during the year. The grounds of the school provide the many classes ample opportunity to spread out and enjoy 2 separate playgrounds, basketball court and lush green grass. Even the fundraising ventures at Hazelwild are creative and enjoyable. They host a spaghetti dinner social, an art show (where you can purchase an orginal piece created by your child,) and an exciting fall festival including hayrides, ponyrides, haunted house and pumpkin maize. I certainly don't regret my choice at all!
