My son is a 7th grader at FMS and we have had nothing but problems all year with bulling. The school says they have a 0 tolorance for bulling yet nothing has been done all year. There answer is to remove the child being picked on instead of dealing with the children who are doing the harrasing. My husbad and I have gone into the school multiple times to talk with the counclor and principle and there is no communication between the two of them. Mr. Jacobs the principle had no idea that there was even a problem. My sons grades have dropped and I have to fight to get him to go to school almost everyday. It seems to be a very nice school and most of his teachers are great at what they do I think the problem is the administration and the MAJOR lack of communication between teachers admin and parents. My son will not be attending this school next year that is for sure.

This school is great! It has lots of fun activities and programs. Since I have been going to this school there hasn't been any fights. There are great teachers and administrators. They have great rules and punishments to keep everyone well behaved. Everyone is really kind and its easy to make friends. I moved away from this school 3 months ago and have mised it greatly!. Now I go to Labay Middle school which really sucks!!!!

Our family is new to the state of Virginia and Freedom Middle School faculty has made the transition for my daughter very easy. The curriculum/grading is a bit more intense than what she was use to, but her teachers and counselor have agreed to come together and figure out how best to help her make appropriate adjustments so she can continue to be academically successful.

My son was failing a lot of subjects when he came to this school but with the help of his teachers and counselor he was able to turn his grades around. They suggested tutoring and special programs which geared to children who need help in being more organized. That was my son biggest problem. I think this school is great!!! The teachers have always kept me informed and they go out of their way to help your child. This is absolutely the best school my son has attended and we've moved around alot during my time in the military.

If you have a child who needs help academically this isn't the school for you. I have a child who struggles but the teachers are failing to help him. He is so far behind and upon numerous meetings with the teachers, counselor, principal and having him tested for a learning disability which i know he has, but doesn't meet the state guidelines for a disability we are still struggling with him as well as the teachers. No follow thru with some of the teachers. If private school wasn't so exspensive he would be there,or if i could find someone to homeschool him i would do it! overall not happy with the school and we call or email every other day!
