we left the school feeling the same way. significant changes need to be made in the area of accountability with the leadership and it's philosophy that all who leave are "bad seeds that God weeds out" very sad that this idiology exists in a supposedly Christian school.

I am a former parent with 2 kids. Both attended for 3 years. Very disappointed on every level. I would not recommend to any child above preschool age.

There is something special happening at Lighthouse this school year! I'm new this year and don't really know how things have been in the past, but it's clear that THIS is a great school with teachers who truly LOVE children! Maybe God weeded out the bad and replenished the school with families who appreciate a good education when they see it! Just a thought.

Yet another poor review from an employee who was asked not to return. Do not believe the negative reviews on this site because the children here are loved beyond compare and taught beyond their grade level. My daughter has finished an entire year of language curriculum in two and a half months. How is that for a school that is so horrible?

My daughter is in the Jr. High class and we could not be happier. Lighthouse Academy has offered her a safe, loving, envirement which was lacking in her public school experience. The preschool teacher & kintergarten teachers are faithful & loyal to the school and would never trash talk it. My daughter loves to go to school in the morning. She is happy & is learning...what more could a parent ask for? to the sad person who has nothing better to do then post negative, I say please..pull your kids if you are that unhappy. There is a waiting list of children who will be happy to take their place.

Please don't be misled by the rating 'great schools' gave Lighthouse Academy of Fredericksburg. We are new to the school this year and have found it to be a great change for our kids. We came from public school and have enjoyed the calmer atmosphere, the independent learning style and the staff is warm and friendly. All of my kids are enrolled and loving it! Every need is different for each child.....this may be a nice change for your family. Don't listen to the disgruntled, negativity.....come to the school and look for yourself. That's what I did....it's a no brainer!

I have three grandchildren attending this school and I have to say that the dedication by the staff has been remarkable. The kids excel at an amazing rate and love to learn due to a very teachable environment. The values that are being taught build character and potential leaders.

My daughter has been at Lighthouse Academy for 5 years. She is now in 3rd grade. I am very pleased with her academic achievements. I have checked the SOL guidelines for her grade level and she exceeds them . She is challenged everyday. I have never been lied to or mislead. The owners genuinely care about each and every student, their well being and academic progression. My daughters class has never been like a daycare. I do not agree with the negative comments on this site. The Lighthouse Academy is a wonderful christian montessori school.

I am not sure what these last three reviews are all about. All of the private schools, like most small businesses, are losing enrollment. I have been a parent of the school for many years and know most, if not all, of the families that left and almost all of them left because they could not afford it anymore. Very sad. They left very sad and their children left very sad. This school is a beautiful school, from the inside out. From the owners to the teachers, which by the way all of the head teachers, excluding pre-school, have college degrees and some have Master's degrees, to the families to the children are wonderful and full of life. The environment is peace and the desire is love, peace, gentleness all mixed with an incredibly challenging curriculum. Just visit the school website for personal testimonies of some recent 8th grade graduates who were accepted into advanced programs, testing out of grade level curriculum. Everything is right here and everything reported below is slanted. Not sure why because all the families that I know are so happy with what their children are getting or have received over the last several years. By the way, the school is full!

I have been amazed at the amount of happiness of families in this school. I see lots of the moms around town, even from years ago, and they all talk so wonderfully about the school. I have had an amazing experience as a parent and have been so thoroughly impressed at how well my son's teachers know him. They know him and love him so well that he never wants to leave. He gets real bummed out on teacher workdays and can't wait to get back to school to see his friends and get back to work. i talk with lots of moms in the hall, because socialization is encouraged at this school, and everybody is happy. The new families are on a huge learning curve as this is a "non-traditional" school and it takes time to understand how it all works. But all of us "veterans" couldn't be happier. My son comes home every day talking about what an amazing day he had and my teacher this and my teacher that. All I hear is how my son is happy, challenged, loved and nurtured. What else could I ask for in a school that is not my home and not me. Hats off to all of the teachers, owners and staff for continuing a vision of excellence. I praise God for you. Thank you for all you do and for who you are
