If you have a child with some additional needs like organizational support, etc., this is not the place for you. A week can go by before a teacher will respond to an email and sometimes you'll get no response at all. If you need ongoing information about assignments and activities, you'll find very poor communication. This is a school that caters to their long term enrollees rather than new admissions.

My family has been apart of the Riverfront community for over 6 years. I have watched this school improve it's academic program, build an athletic and superior elementary Art program. The administration and teachers are easy to communicate with and are quick to address my concerns. Even though Riverfront still does not have gym, that has not stopped them from providing an excellent physical education program for the students. Riverfront cares about the physical health of the students. In my opinion, Riverfront has developed into a excellent school and is keeping up with the educational trends. This school is a great place to educate children.

Riverfront Christian School has been a wonderful experience for my two sons who have attended for 3 years at the high school level. They have enjoyed the Christian atmosphere as well as the challenging academics. The teachers obviously see their roles as ministries and not just jobs and take an active interest in the students' progress. My boys have enjoyed the variety of sports as well as the extracurricular activities available.

The academic program is great (A Becka which can be taught easily at home) but may be too rigid an enviornment for some children. There are several seasoned teachers who are wonderful with the children. It is evident they have encountered many student personalities and have the skills to teach each one. Volunteer time and donations are expected to support the school and the church. I can not comment on the sports offered as my children were not involved. There is no gymnasium or space other than the classroom (which barely accomodate 15 students) for physical education when weather does not permit outside activity. There is little time for the younger students (K-3) to burn off energy. Suggestions for improvement of parent/teacher/director communication (which is poor) are not received openly. If you have the time to be involved constantly it can be a wonderful place for your child's education.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
