My daughter has been at this school for two years now and the collaboration between teachers, staff and parents is another comment on this site said "non-existing!" I do not feel as though teachers really care what my child does; her grades were good starting out this year but after the first semester it has been like a roller coaster. I have tried to have one on one coorespondence with the teachers and Principal but have not received responses; now to be fair out of six classes three responded to my requests (Homeroom, PE and Science). Just not impressed by anything I have seen.

I love this school. The teachers are all great and I feel like I am getting a very good education. Also, they most certainly do go beyond the SOLs and care a lot about us.

This is scool is below average at best. The staff give very little if any supervision while students are between classes. Several parents complain about the Principal and Vice Principal. Teachers do not communicate with parents and rarely return calls or emails. Teachers teach to the SOL test and rarely go beyond to grow the young minds of our children. Very poor, I suggest private school if you can afford it.

My daughter has been at the school for two years now and she really loves the kids and staff. Her teachers are really vested in her future and of course the other kids as well but when they have seen her struggle in Math or Science that is when you see the real 'human' come out. Investigating what type of person the child is how does this child need to learn and are they getting that from me. I love GMS and enjoy the communication good or bad that I receive from them!

Outstanding school. Very safe and fun for kids. Good array of elective courses and a rigorous curriculum at all levels. Office staff and administrators are nice and enthusiastic but tough on discipline.

I currently have a 7th grader at this school. She feels very comfortable in this small school. Teachers are excellent. Only drawback is the age of the building - very old and musty. However, plans are in process to move the middle school to its own wing at the new High School. Wish there were more clubs - at the moment it is mostly sports. However, this is usually the case with small schools in a rural area.
