We love this school. Teachers go out of the way to support. They are very approachable and always willing to help out. The front office staff are also very courteous and helpful. Overall excellent library, indoor gym and again thanks to all the teachers and staff for making this school an awesome institution and making kids and parents very proud.

We love this school; the staff is really nice and requests are done promptly. The education is great. Building is new. However, we do have an issue with the school not sharing information that I, as a parent, would like to know. Several kids in our class have had lice this year and the school does not alert the other parents. I believe every parent has the right to know if a child in the same class has something another child can spread. That is a parents first defense regarding their own child. Other than that the school is fantastic.

Love Love this school! This school holds the Chess Tournament once a month, and my son loves playing chess there! The Chess teacher--Mrs. Chin dedicates all herself to kids' chess, she is a very great teacher! McNair ES is also one of the center schools of Fairfax County AAP program -- you will see how good quality the school is!

First I gotta recognize there are great teachers on this school, however ... there are teachers who only care about themselves and its like a competition for them. About the office staff.... super rude!! I've only seen the principal being kind and always smiling but her staff .... totally rude, there is even a lady who will shout out loud to the children. There are some cases of bullying reported and teachers didn't solve the problem and took no action until it was elevated to the principal.

My son is in Kindergarten. His teacher was absent so many times and utilized worksheets as her main method of instructing the class. There was very little meaningful or hands-on learning opportunities in there. Also, she missed a lot of days. The front office staff is super rude. I volunteer every week and each time it was like walking into a negative environment. I never felt welcome. My child did learn a lot in his class, but I know his experience was not what we expected for his first year in school. The class also had 25 students. We are moving because we know this isn't the best fit for our family.

At McNair elementary most of the teachers are good. Kudos to Mr. D, Mr. White, Mrs. Chin and Mrs. Juntilla. My kids will have fond memories of this school because of these amazing teachers. However, I have had very awful experiences with the front desk staff. They are extremely rude. If you try to reason with them they will go the extreme of insulting you.

Looks like a buisness showcase group. Parents outwitting each other more than the kids enrolled. It has become a challenge for the parents to live up and excel rather than the kids wanting to do what they want. Parent involvement is to the level that it has become obstructive and derogatory thats why one star for that. Kids showing off their tech stuff and bragging who has IPAD or tablet to read rather than books.

School is really good.Most of the Teachers are awesome.But the front desk people are not at all friendly or nice to the parents.Some people from admin also not at all friendly to Asians.In office we can sense discrimination.If this thing is fixed at McNair ,then it will be the best school in this area.

The most rude staff I have ever seen. They never co-operate with parents. They always try to impose new rules like dictators, they always try to dominate on Parents like small kids or infants. Teacher are not best, whereas some of them are okey.

My daughter goes to Kindergarten in this school.I will have to agree that some teachers are good and some are less than desirable.My daughter started with 18 kids in her class and now there are about 24. My experience with the office staff has not been very good. Anytime i have to go inside the administrative wing for something the cold stares and bad attitude just puts me off. Its the middle of the session and i hope things don't get worse than this.

Great teachers starting from grade 3 to 6 . The teachers are excellent. They pay more attention kids. My kids have been here from kindergarden. When Oak Hill was the GT center, my kid went there for 3rd grade and then she had to come back to Mcnair as this became the GT center. I like McNair teachers performance when compared to it. Great school to send your kids.

Our daughter Shria goes to 3rd grade at McNair ES. She has a great teacher, Mr. De and we are very much satisfied about our daughter's performance. He gives innovative & interactive topics for homework and encourages collective learning. He gives big topics to make my daughter to think big, do some research/study and make her to use Microsoft tools like MS Word & Powerpoint. Thanks to Mr DeFrancesco.

This is a multi-ethnic School and you will not feel you are been segregated any where in the school. I feel always so much greeted that I feel shy.. I love this School....my both kids have been studying there since 2008 and I have had no complaints whatsoever. Keep up the good Teachers and Staff !!

The staff in the school is not at all helpful.I found them to be very rude.My kid is not happy in the school.Unfrienndly envronment for the kids.English is not the main language spoken here.

I've put two children through this school in the last eight years. I have nothing but raving praise for the administration and teachers of this well organized, teamwork minded, professional, caring group. Every experience in music, academics, extracurricular, activities, clerical, and information management has been positive and superior. If you want your child to have ethnic diversity, wonderful curricula, be safe, excel, and grow, this is your school.

McNair is a wonderful elementary school. With the new principal, and the status of a GT center, this school is drawing the top students in the area. Teachers are hard working and very dedicated. The principal is very involved and has high expectations of staff and students. This is a school to watch. PTA and parent center are very supportive and offer many opportunities. Excellent school. We came from a local private school , which ended up being far inferior to the education offered at McNair.

McNair Elementary has always been a great school. I am not sure why there are negative reviews about the school. Teachers and Staffs at the school are very helpful and cooperative. My both kids (daughter and son) go to the school. Teachers are knowledgeable and always appreciate students to perform good in the class. Recent changes to the school zone has balanced the student counts at the school. The school always organizes different evening activities that helps students to get involved in the events and have fun. I would personally like to be thankful of the Principal, Teachers, and Staffs about their excellent service for the school.
