As the old saying goes, "Don't judge a book by its cover, open it and become part of it." I agree completely that our school is one of the least attractive schools and has many physical issues, but when you open the door and enter into a classroom you will forget about the physical limitations. Learning is taking place and student needs are being met, regardless of what the No Child Left Behind benchmarks indicate, which are not the same as the state of VA benchmarks. MIS meets the state benchmarks. Afterall, its unrealistic to believe that 100% is achievable from all people in all areas of learning; especially our special needs children who might be mentally and/or physically impaired to the degree that the primary focus is not passing a test, but teaching life skills. Please be a part of our school community. We want and need you!

The building has been marked as unsafe for a school or even office building for several years now. In addition, the school continually fails to meet academic standards and does not prepare students for middle school curriculum. Minimal attention given to needs of accelerated children. Would score under a one star if available.

The school administration is very unprofessional. There are no consequences for unexceptable behavior. The good students are suffering due to the lack of discipline and organization. The focus is about SOL's and not in helping your child to grow academically.
