My child has been at this school since 2004.The teachers and staff are very caring people.I needed extra help for my child and I received it promply. The new principle (Mr.Holmes) is very much into reading and school spirit. The students love the new AR program to encourage and reward them for there reading and efforts. The school does lack some parent support and involvement. The school does need more teacher assistants. There are only 2 on staff at this time. But over all I am glad and pleased that we moved to this school district.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Virginia used the Standards of Learning (SOL) tests to assess students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8, writing in grades 5 and 8, and science in grades in 3, 5 and 8. The SOL tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Virginia. The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
