My son has been in school (Kindergarden) for 2 months and so far it is NOT a good school. there are 22 kids in the class and the teacher is not good at communicating his progress, or things that he needs work with. I get notes home at least once a week claiming that i haven't sent in forms for things that i sent in before school even started, and then when i go into the school and make an issue out of it, they say "oh, it's ok, don't worry about it", but then my son comes home with another note saying i didn't turn something in. I feel as though I'm "pacified" when i go to the school and ask questions and bring up concerns, and after the conversation is over, nothing changes. It's a real disappointment. My son will not attend this school next year.
This school is one of the worst schools I have ever seen! My daughter went here and had a horrible experience! The teachers and staff are bad. They don't seem to care about the safety, wellfare, or education of the children! I tried numerous times to speak with the principal about issues I was having, but the office staff seemed to come up with a ton of excuses as to why I couldn't speak with the principal! If you care anything about your child, then I am begging you to not send them to this school!!!! This school needs to be closed down!
Sedgefield is an excellent school with a broad array of cultures and personalities. The leadership of the principal is unmatched and the teaching staff, to include assistants, resource and guidance is a very caring and nuturing group of professionals. It has really been a pleasure working with the students and parents of this fine school this year and I am already looking forward to next year!
This school is a disappointment. The teaching staff and teachers aids can't seem to get the information to the parents in time. More often than not, the parents aren't notified of extracurricular activities until the day of the event, or the day after. My son actually had an award presentation on a monday, and I wasn't told about it until I picked him up that day, 2 hours after his award. He asked why I wasn't there for it. Sad. This school needs alot of help with organization and leadership skills. Hopefully, since I'm stuck sending my children there next year, the new teacher will be a bit better. Any sort of improvement would be appreciated.
I think Sedgefield is a great school. The teachers are very open and caring. They have embraced not only my son, but my whole family. There is a lot of diversity in the classrooms which I think is great because it exposes my son to different cultures, and languages. His two best friends are people that don't look anything like him. I wish adults were as loving and accepting of other cultures as children are. As far as parental involvement, there is a Parental Involvement Specialist in the building, and she knows a lot about outside programs, assistance that you can get for health insurance, homework, classes to improve yourself, etc. She makes herself available, and her number is located on my refrigerator at home. I would recommend Sedgefield to anyone.
