Nice small, school that offers a decent education in a very home-like, safe environment. The quality of teachers is uneven. Some are truly excellent others just mediocre. It seems like they haven't been able to keep some of the great teachers for a long tirme. Despite tremendous parental support and involvement I haven't been impressed with the final "product" Most of these students would have done equally well in public schools. I think Grymes could do a better job in the use of web technology and more individualized teaching methods. Children carry heavy volume of books on the daily basis. Why aren't they using Web more or have books on-line? Some staff vehicles are covered with political stickers. Maybe it would be prudent to keep their political views private? Overall, it is a nice, little school that hasn't lived up to its full potential.

My daughter is in K at Grymes. She attended JK last year. An amazing school where education truly comes first. The teachers and staff are first class and very caring. After a few days my daughter felt right at home. I love dropping her at school every morning and seeing the huge smile on her face. The convenience of picking her up 5 minutes from where I work is a huge plust. My husband likes the quaintness of the school and how it reminds him of the school he attended as a child. We highly recommend Grymes to families who are looking for the best education for their child in a "family" environment.

I'll be the first to say I am a picky parent. We have tried out many of our local schools private and public and have never been as happy as we are with Grymes. The staff is enthusiastic, and cheerful. I've never seen people so happy in a work environment! : ) Grymes is very challenging academically. This took a while for my daughter to adjust to. The staff was so helpful and patient, tutoring her and following up with me at home. The children are allowed a great amount of creative freedom. They have many breaks throughout the day, which is good for children who like to be active. They also offer art a few times a week as well as Spanish for all grades. I would highly recommend visiting the school for a day. My only regret is not starting my daughter at Grymes earlier.

We have entered our third year at Grymes Memorial School. Our children are happy and when you enter the halls of Grymes you see that the other children are as well. My children have been well prepared for each grade they have entered. They are encouraged to work hard and do their best. They are challenged. The mix of arts and traditional academics is just right and will prepare them for 9th grade and beyond. The discipline, manners and social skills that is emphasized at Grymes is evident. Grymes is a safe and nuturing place. There is no perfect school. Grymes continues to grow with its students and faculty. It is an environment open to it's families. We are comfortable to come and go and voice our opinions. They are on the right track and we are proud to be a part of it.

We researched several schools before choosing Grymes. Grymes is so wonderful. It is the only school I visited that combined strong academics with strong nuturing. They work so hard to help each individual achieve their personal best. The children are well educated, confident and well spoken.

Grymes Memorial School offers an outstanding educational experience. The teachers are willing to work with parents on their child's overall education. Our daughter is entering 5th grade, and she's been at GMS since Pre-K.

I am impressed with the way GMS teaches children to think. The teachers continue to draw each child out, its amazing to see the growth at the end of each year. The school has a very warm friendly atmosphere, everyone cares for each other. I am pleased to have my children there.
