I think Columbia ES is great. I lvoe that the school is small and the students are able to have one-on-one time with their teachers. Their is a lot of interaction between parents and staff. The lead teachers that are in charge while the principal is offsite have been apart of the Fluvanna County school system for over 30 years - I know, one of them was my kindergarten teacher! The staff is great and always willing to help out in any way they can.
This 'school' is a joke. There is no consistancy in its leadership. The principal covers two schools and is only at Columbia a couple days each week. The rest of the time the school is run by a lead teacher. There is no engagement between parents and faculty. Most of the time it seems like they are making it up as they go. When we have concerns to adress, everyone scatters and points fingers.
