My Son is going to this school this year. So far he really likes it, but my son is like a sponge and when I ask him what he learned today, he only tells me a story about Jesus. As I love Christ and the history of our fathers, I want him to also learn math and English. Things that will help him in future years of everyday life. I am a stay at home mom, so I would be willing to help an any of my child's activities at school. I find myself wanting to go inside all the time, but feel that I am shut out. It could be just me, but It feels like it is not parent friendly. One other thing that bothers me, is when it is cold outside the kids stay in and watch movies (I assume they have to do with class activities) but then my son came home and told me he watched 3 movies yesterday????

My son loves this school!! I love that they are teaching him in a safe, loving environment. Christian values are important to our family and I like that what we teach at home is reinforced in the school. This was my son's first year and he had Mrs. Rheuark and she did a wonderful job. Thanks and have a great summer!!

As a former student of PCS and for only being there 2 years, I can say with full confidence that PCS is one of the greatest christian schools in the 757 area. They are supportive of missions, both home and abroad. They are supportive of the multiple gifts and talents of each student. PCS leadership seeks God on a daily bases and tries to not only lead by example but also follow the direction of God. Like any other school it is not perfect, but PCS has never claimed to be something that they are not. The school has had issues, both with faculty, staff and students. The thing to remember about PCS that each day, the teachers try to show love and grace to each student.

Thank you PCS for the great education, great Christian values and for hiring teachers who truly care about the students. As a former PCS student I am so thankful to the teachers who took the extra time to help me when " I just didn't get it " Now that I have graduated I understand the sacrifices the teachers made staying after school when I needed extra math help. I now appreciate how they taught me to be respectful in every situation, I appreciate and understand better now how the Christian values they taught me made me the person I am today !! I want to say thank you Mom & Dad for sending me to PCS , it was money well spent .. I would highly recommend PCS school to anyone Looking for great Christian education with teachers and staff who really care!!

Unfortunately, PCS spends much of the day picking on their students. Your child receives a red check if they talk, if they drop their pencil, if they wear a hoodie without a zipper, if they forget their highlighter, if they touch another student for any reason. These strikes lead to daily silent lunches and in school suspensions. If the teacher(s) would use this energy teaching the classes we would get more for our money. The school definitely has a correctional center mentality and I am hoping that this will change over time so that our children can enjoy school instead of fretting all day as to where the next red strike will come from.

I have 2 children at PCS. One in 5th grade, and one in K4. I love the way biblical principles are introduced into each day, and the wonderful songs my kids have learned about God and His love. I also like the atmosphere, in that its safe, well controlled, and there isn't alot of drama there. I'm not so crazy about the politics, but other than that, I am certain that my boys are getting a quality education that will allow them to be successful leaders, as well as team players as they move into the future phases of their lives.

PCS has been a trully wonderful gift from God. My oldest daughter has been there for 8 years and my middle daughter has been there 4 years. The education they are receiving is top notch. The teachers are loving and compassionate. They have been completely supportive of my children and have strived to offer them everything a parent can hope for. Christ's love shines through these teachers. His love is abundant due to their obvious walk. My children are receiving a powerful message of Christ's love every day they walk through the doors. I look forward to my children continuing there and my youngest daughter starting there very soon. Great School!

A school whose intentions are good but unfortunately size and personalized care has dropped due to their large size. Classes are beyond full and personalized attention has fallen by the wayside. Specialized care and nurturing is given depending on who you are, whose child you are, and what church you attend. It is a shame that they have lost sight of the vision that every Christian school should have...seeing people as Jesus does. Thank goodness Portsmouth offers other excellent Christian school choices.

PCS has been a blessing for my family. I once consider transferring my kids to a different school due to burdens, but once I visited other school, and listened to the students and the atmosphere, I refused to allow these burden to be a everyday part of rising my children. My children has learned so much about the bible and it shows in their everyday lives. It takes a village to rise kids and I want positive people and teachers in their lives. I get this from PCS, not only the teachers but every staff there. Sure the teachers at other school are as good, but the surrounding also has a impact on how children think. I am so proud of the progression I see, wow. It is amazing. I have always been told, noone should have to tell you they are Christians, a real Christian you will know

I'm currently a student at PCS. Its got some good things, and just as many bad. I feel like most of the reviews here are describing a school I'd kill to go to, but its not a very real view. Its a traditional Christian school, comeplete with ALL the rules without lax of enforcement. If you want to escape the rules of seperation of church and state, you have to take on a whole new set of burdens. Its hasnt helped me, but its done alot to hurt my spirituality. I do appreciate the freedoms i have here, but Christian school is not for me. Some people love it here though, i think its all up to the person. I think alot of people would be happy here, so please check it out. It would be a mistake not to, because it also has the potential to do great things!
