This is a diverse school that seems to be going in a very positive direction and gets better every year.

Virginia Heights is an amazing elementary school. The teaching staff is supportive and eager to assist the children as needed. They get the children actively involved in learning to where it is fun for them.

This school has a lice issue all year round. They never send letters home. Rhe principal does not seem like she knows what she's doing and doesn't make efforts to listen to the parents

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Virginia used the Standards of Learning (SOL) tests to assess students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8, writing in grades 5 and 8, and science in grades in 3, 5 and 8. The SOL tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Virginia. The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
